Abstract: This paper is focused on preliminary results of the research project “Monitoraggio continuo per le Acque reflue Urbane ed Industriali per l'ecoindustria” (MAUI). Particular attention is paid on method for wastewater real-time monitoring. It is well known that conventional field sampling operations condition significantly data reliability from both qualitative and quantitative aspects. A vapour phase e-nose (named VPeN) based on a semiconductor sensor array has been used to obtain real time monitoring. The proposed device do not require consumable and may be easily connected to data acquisition network
