Description:
The system is based on solid state sensors for monitoring various air quality size distributions. The device is modular and it is based on an embedded processor for integrating, by means of artificial intelligence techniques, the data sampled by a range of consumer sensors. The device can be connected to various data networks and communicate the measured values real time, moreover it has an advanced integrated diagnostics and it is designed for outdoor installation. It is also possible to get power using solar panels. Additional sensors can be included such as those related to radiofrequency electromagnetic fields, noise, light and other quantities of meteorological interest. Currently the system is being engineered on different applications (ECOURB, SLIM-Port).

Description:
The system gathers information from multiple cameras simultaneously and transfers them to a 3D virtual environment. An intelligent system extracts data on the movement behaviour thus generating signals in relation to unrecognized conditions. The system is scalable on computer networks or parallel computers in relation both to the extension and the complexity of the observed scene. Up to now the system is in an advanced prototyping phase.

Description:
The system features a mobile unit able to acquire video streams and data from different kinds of sensors with high dynamics (e.g. accelerometer).The device is self powered and it is suitable for being installed on vehicles and airplanes; it has solid state buffer memory and can be connected to wired, wireless, and cellular networks. The acquired data are sent to a server software compatible with many of the common operating systems currently available and also with different power machines depending on the application and the user's needs. To date the system is in use since it has been tested successfully in the TELE.SICUR.TRAS project.

Description:
The system, developed in collaboration with the My-Hermes Ltd Taranto, can certify the identity of the terminal operators after their authentication through log-in. The system uses olfactory, video and distance- measuring sensors of course in compliance with current privacy policy. To date, commercial applications have been in the field of e-learning.

Description:
The system performs the automatic extraction of IF-THEN rules (output) from a series of numerical data (input). The drawn rules, which a degree of accuracy resulting from the learning phase is associated to, concur to the formation of a grammar representing the linguistic interpretation model of the input. The alphabet used for expressing the rules consists of hypotheses being measurable on the input data. In this respect, the system can proceed in a supervised way (if the user specifies the type of hypothesis to be applied to the data) or in an unsupervised way (if the system is allowed to develop statistical assumptions). The system is suitable for several purposes including for example the extraction of models from measurable observations or identification of patterns within time series.

Description:
This portable handheld environment monitoring system based on solid sensors is the result of the cooperative effort between AeFLab of Politecnico di Bari and Sincon S.r.l. company of Taranto. The device allows for detecting hazardous gases like those of vehicle exhausts or dangerous emissions from consumables e.g. sticky stuff, paint and building materials. Moreover, through this instrument it is possible to monitor the harmful exposure to chemical contaminants such as CO,Benzene, NH4 from the house combustion processes generated by those heating and cooking appliances not adequately vented. The instrument can also provide information about the surrounding air quality in a very short time.

Description:
This system has been designed for environmental monitoring and it is able to communicate with a large number of devices using various network technologies: wired network (also using Power Line Communication), wireless and zigbee. For this device, the driver for the most common operating systems and other management software are available. This device has been designed to work in various applications such as the monitoring of micro climatic conditions in indoor environments with Air Conditioning Systems.
